Microwave International New Media Arts Festival - 'Animatronica' (2006)

Microwave is a new media arts organization showcases top-notch new media-arts from across the world. The Microwave Festival is the first and only art festival in Hong Kong dedicated to new media arts. For its 10th anniversary, we created a brand new visual identity for the Microwave International New Media Arts Festival.

The new branding projects stability yet it also embodies a strong element of flexibility and motion through multiple identities. The new brand’s fluorescent colors series is a signifier of the nature of light: its openness and its strong relationship with new media generate Microwave‘s new evolving identity. The new identity was applied to all print and promotion items including website and moving images.

'Animatronica' was the theme of Microwave International New Media Arts Festival 2006 – a platform was presented to witness technology as critical challenges to our pre-conceived notion of existence, presence, control, power, time and sustainability.

《微波國際新媒體藝術節》是香港首個亦是唯一一個以新媒體藝術為中心的藝術節,2006年藝術節踏入十週年,milkxhake為其視覺形象進行了大翻新。

新形象採用了對比鮮明的螢光橙色,代表光的性質和形態,四邊形組成的標識以最簡練的姿態示人,展示Microwave的新形象,標識紮實有力亦不欠靈活性。

「漫誘引力」藝術節邀請了七位新媒體藝術家參展,嘗試探討作品如何讓我們多思巧人與科技的關係,及科技帶給我們對空間的示。藝術家的共通處在於他們都採用監察系統和先進的互動程式為創作的依歸,其作品會對觀眾的參予作出光、聲、影的回應。
