The Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) - Call for Entries (2011-2012)

Client: Center for Entrepreneurship, The Chinese University of Hong Kong / Year: 2011-2012

The Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) is a social venture business plan competition organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Aimed to educate and encourage students to pay attention to social issues and employ a creative solution through entrepreneurship.

In 2011, we were asked to create a new identity for the event and the visual identity for the theme of the year. Based on the ‘Triple Bottom Line’ business standard, the logo of HKSEC is formed by three pillars grouped by hexagons, in which hexagon (hive) is a symbol for team building and unity in nature.

‘What is Good Business’ is the theme of the year. Good Business is something good for the society, just like harvest. A fruitful image is the best picture for a social enterprise. By making use of the elements from the HKSEC logo, we constructed a set of graphics as the visual identity for the year’s theme.
