Hong Kong Designers Association Awards 2007 - 'Design. No Junkfood' - Call for Entries (2007)

Organized by the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), the HKDA Awards has been one of the most important design awards to design excellence in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific for over 30 years. It is a multi-disciplinary award for professional designs in the fields of graphic, product, spatial and new media.

In 2007, we are commissioned to deliver the creative campaigns visual identity package for the HKDA Awards 07. We came up with a big idea of ‘Design. No Junk Food’, which also was the theme of the Award. The provocative statement aimed to challenge the existing value of design and also act as a notion from ‘Calling for Entries’, Judges Seminar and ‘Awards Presentation and Exhibition’.

Only bold red and white were used for the campaign, a specially designed wrapper was made for the participants to ‘wrap their fresh stuff’ while submitting their works. All the ‘fresh stuffs’ echoed with each other when gathered.

The project successfully attracted numerous young talents in Asia Pacific Region especially from mainland cities, celebrating a totally new creative force in the industry.

由香港設計師協會 (HKDA) 舉辦的「香港設計師協會奬」,三十多年來一直是香港以至亞太地區設計精英雲集之地。香港設計師協會奬全方位包羅多個設計界別,如平面、產品、空間及新媒體。

這次大會主題是:「設計求精,拒絕行貨」。這是對設計價的肯定,亦是向整個亞太地區的專業設計師作號召。milkxhake擔任此徵集活動的創意總監及藝術指導,提出了「DESIGN. NO JUNK FOOD」的主題口號,並使用大膽有力的紅白兩色設計了大會的所有宣傳物品,當中包括得別為包裹參賽物品用的包裝紙,示意比賽只接受最新鮮精選的創意作品。項目推廣範圍包括作品徵集、評審研討會、頒獎典禮及得獎作品展覽。

在有號召力的宣傳下,比賽吸引了不少亞太區的新銳設計師參賽,為業界引進了不少新勢力。
